Tsasouna Chapel

Below Uskela Church, there is another sacred building, the Orthodox Tsasouna Chapel of the Holy Cross in Salo, which was completed in 1990. The house of prayer was designed by the Salo-based Arvo Happo in the style of Karelian round-log buildings. The house of prayer functions as part of the Turku Orthodox Church. The project to build a new railway line between Turku and Helsinki places the tsasouna under the risk of demolition.
