Building of the Voluntary Fire Brigade (VPK)

The fire department building of Salo Voluntary Fire Brigade was completed in autumn 1908. Located at Asemakatu 3 (and Mariankatu 5), the building was designed by A.A. Tapio and Otto Dahl. Jugend style is visible in the VPK building, for example, in the forms of the gable and windows on the exterior wall on the Mariankatu side, as well as the decorations. The interior of the building, particularly the banquet hall, was originally strongly decorated in Jugend style.
