Teijo Church
Telakkatie 1, Teijo
Teijo Church is Finland’s smallest stone church.
Finland’s smallest stone church is located in the ironworks village of Teijo, Perniö.
The story goes that ironmaster Robert Bremer built the church for the parish in 1829 as a token of gratitude since the flood he had predicted did not materialise. According to Bremer, this was the first regnal year of God. Designed by Bremer and reminiscent of Chinese pagodas, the stone church was placed at the end of an overflow dam near the manor, on a hill dominating the village view.
