Suomusjärvi Church
Karjalohjantie 161, Suomusjärvi
The current log church with a cruciform plan was built according to the drawings by E. Lohrmann and under the direction of carpenter I. Lindström in 1849. The altarpiece was painted by R. W. Ekman in 1866. Its motif is Christ on Calvary. The bottom of the altarpiece depicts baby Jesus sleeping. He is resting on a cross and holding a crown of thorns in his hand. The pulpit was built by Turku-based carpenter H. J. Stenroos in 1897. The belfry was built in place of the previous one in 1750 by Jaakko Härkä, holder of Kettula cavalry estate.
The church has seating for 560 people.
