Sheepfarm lean to
Lean-to for evening gatherings and overnight stays.
The landscape is dominated by summer pastures for sheep, a cultivated valley, forest nature and an impressive cliff with stunning views in the background.
Built in 2022 for our own family, using logs felled and carved by myself.
• Plank benches by the fire, a sturdy grill with a pan hook, dry firewood, ample counter space, a dining set, and an eco-toilet (composting toilet).
• The shelter is built on a rocky base. The frame is hand-carved from aspen from our own forest, the logs crafted by the owner himself. Linen strips were installed between the logs during assembly for tight insulation. The floor is made from 28 mm tongue-and-groove pine boards. The roof is covered with bitumen felt (quiet even in the rain) and the shelter is equipped with a mosquito net.
• During your stay or visit, you’ll have the chance to meet our farm’s animals—currently (as of 2025) 13 sheep, 6 lambs, and 8 chickens.
• If you wish, you can wake up to the crowing of our traditional Finnish rooster, Lari.
• Please note: open fires are strictly prohibited during forest.
