The memorial to the victimised Reds of the Finnish Civil War, sculpted from red granite from Vehmaa, is located at the cemetery of Halikko hospital. It was put up after the Winter War and revealed in 1940. The memorial is on the spot where a number of captured Reds, mainly from Somero, were executed and buried on 13 May 1918 during the Civil War. The estimate of the number of executed varies between 50 and 100. The monument was made by A. Toivola’s stone workshop.
